Interpretative author and designer

I have always been keen to share my enthusiasm for natural history with others, so interpretation has been a long-standing interest since my days producing worksheets for youngsters visiting Edinburgh Zoo (far left).

In 1985, I helped develop a visitor centre in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh for the Scottish Wildlife Trust and Historic Scotland, and, to go with this, I designed a self-guided nature trail round the Park (left).

More recently, I designed and wrote the interpretative boards for two 'Flowers of the Forest' trails for Plantlife Scotland at Culbin Forest and the Glen More Forest Park (right).

In 2007, I had a contract to advise Scottish Natural Heritage on an interactive website for its Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve in Fife (not yet online).

More recent projects include designing another nature trail for Plantlife International at its Munsary Peatlands Reserve in Caithness (sample board left).  This was formally opened by Jamie Stone MSP at the end of July 2009, although we still want to find more funding for additional boards and fully complete the trail at Munsary.
