THE WILDLIFE YEAR
Publisher: Reader's Digest, 1991
ISBN: 0-276-42012-8
I was one of a team of contributors to this attractive and informative book – and I learnt a great deal in the process about everything from Naked Mole Rats to Great Grey Shrikes.
I think it has worn well over the years; it still looks good and I continue to use it as a valuable reference.

THE OXFORD CHILDREN'S ILLUSTRATED ENCYCLOPEDIA
Publisher: Oxford University Press, 1998 (out of print )
ISBN: 0-19-910444-1
I was one of 69 authors of this exhaustive encyclopaedia for children, and was credited also as a "general consultant". I primarily covered plant subjects.
It was a really interesting challenge writing an informative and authoritative text with tight space constraints, while ensuring it was accessible for the target age group!
